Members’ work has been published in fields as diverse as novels, journalism (social and family issues, travel), books for readers with intellectual disabilities, drama, poetry, theology, devotions, music and illustration. Some members’ novels have been translated into Braille; others have recorded their material on radio or have produced original cantatas. In 1994, Omega Writers presented Gallery, a performance of writers’ work enhanced by music, art, drama, spiritual dance and graphics, to an audience of about 900 people. Four years later, a volume of stories, poems and other writings entitled Seasons of Giving was published. Most stories derived from true situations. Several Omegas also contribute regularly to GROW Magazine* which was begun in 2001 by Lyn Hurry who outreaches to young adolescents through this literary magazine. Omega Writers continues now as a more informal group of like-minded people who meet socially in private homes every third month - the second Sunday afternoon of March, June, September, and December - to encourage one another with their current writing projects. There is no longer a regular newsletter, but neither is there any joining fee. Anyone who desires to serve the Lord through the gift of writing can be assured of a warm welcome.
